There were days where events took place in my life that led to me finding myself for the very first time in a prison cell. I remember vividly the emotions that went through me at that instant for I had never experienced any such occurrence. It was a mixture of fear, nervousness, sadness, heartbreak. An act of negligence had brought me here.
I spent my days suffering the heat that existed in an extremely overcrowded cell, suffocating and seeking for breath was a need and not an instinct doing. However, despite my sufferings being at the very extreme as I had never witnessed before, I met an inmate who happens to be a truck driver claimed to have made an attempt on act of theft which got him to end up there as well.
Surrounded by possibly what law terms as criminals, he appeared to have in him so much wisdom than any other person I had come across my life. He shared with me tales about his life and each of them all ended in a conversation which carried great advice. One of my favorite advice of them all from him was his perspective on hard work.
He mentioned that no matter what task you are assigned with, be more than responsible to work harder than the expectancy people could need of you. Whether or not you will be acknowledged does not matter, what matters is you giving your very best shot. If your hard work will rip reward, then it will rip it in big quantities, if it won’t, then it was an experience gained and a new doing awaits.
My earnings are below poverty level and I have always felt that I deserved better in life. Going to a prison cell may have been a worst experience for me but I definitely gained a lot of wisdom internally and grew to be living by this positive motto in my life, there are no losses when hard work is put to action.
I then met a friend who I shared this experience of mine in great detail with, what he said to me is one thing that sums up all this tale. That is people are not bad in this world, bad people do not exist.. The World around us can push us to limit to the point we find ourselves becoming bad to the society without us knowing. And if people believe that bad people exist, my tale was an example that there is good in every single person around the world, all that is required is for people to see beyond their eyes and understand matters by heart.
